Types of Servers over a network

File Server : store users' files and data, and control access to them.

Application Server: perform a similar function for software applications, which can be delivered to any client computer on the network.

Print Server: manage any printers attached to the network, controlling access to them and maintaining a queue of documents waiting to be printed.

Database Server: hosts this information and manages access to it

Authentication Server / Domain Server: is responsible for processing login requests and determining whether a user should be allowed access to the network and its resources.​​
