Definition and Examples

Nouns are words that are used to name people, places, animals, ideas and things.​

Nouns can be classified into two main categories:

Common nouns and Proper nouns.​

Common noun & Proper noun

Common nouns are generic like ball, car, stick, country, girl, boy, movie and proper nouns are more like specific like Mun Keat, Mei Xuan, Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur​, Eon Big, Spider Man.

Examples:​

​Common Nouns is a general word for a person, place or thing.

​Proper Nouns is a word that gives a specific name a common noun. It always begins with a capital letter.
