​Regular Present Tense Spanish Verbs

THE BASICS

• Los verbos describe an action or a state of being. 

• Verbs that are in their neutral state, are called the infinitives. You can tell when a verb is in its infinitive form because it will end in -ar, -er, or -ir. 

• Verbs that are put into a different tense (past, present, future, etc) are called conjugated verbs.

​If there are two verbs side by side then the first is conjugated and the second remains in its infinitive form.

How to conjugate a regular verb

• The two parts of the verb are the stem and the ending. 

• Separate the stem from the ending and change the ending

• Example: hablar= habl +ar
