Asexual Reproduction of Animals
Let's talk about this
34
Animals can also undergo asexual reproduction. There are three types of asexual reproduction in animals, called: budding, fragmentation and parthenogenesis.
35
Budding is asexual reproduction by forming buds like in plants. For example the Porifera, Coelentarata and Hydra sp.
Budding
36
Fragmentation is asexual reproduction in animals by cutting their bodies. Framentation has 2 stages, namely: 1). Fragmentation: breaking or cutting the parent body into 2 or more parts, 2). Regeneration: each piece of the parent body forms another body part that is not in the parent body.
Fragmentation
37
Examples of animals that experience fragmentation are flatworms, namely planaria (Planaria sp).
Fragmentation
38
Parthenogenesis is asexual reproduction in which the female produces ova without fertilization. Examples are bees, ants, aphids and water fleas. In bees, the fertilized ovum will grow into a female bee (sterile), which is not fertilized will grow into a male bee (fertile).
Parthenogenesi
39
The female bee serves as a worker, the male bee is in charge of producing sperm to fertilize the ovum produced by the queen bee. The queen bee is a bee that produces eggs and the eggs will hatch into female bees and male bees.
Parthenogenesi
