​monotheistic: A belief in one god

​Examples: Islam, Christianity, Judaism

Polytheism- Belief in more than one god.

​Examples: Thor (Norse mythology) , egyptian gods, Greek gods

​Muslim- A person who believes in Islam.

​Connection: Jew/ Jewish- A follower of Judaism. ​

​Islam- A religion based on the teachings of muhammad.

Mosque- A Muslim place of worship.

Quran- The Holy Book of Islam

​Connection: Bible is the holy book for those who practice Christianity.

Allah- The one and only God in Islam.

Prophets- A messenger sent by god to share god's word with people.

Caliph- a muslim leader.

Muhammad- Founder and prophet of Islam.​

Sunni- Muslims who accept the rule of umayyad as caliph.

Shia - The larger group of muslims who believed the descendants of ali should rule.

HAJJ-Annual islamic pilgrimage to mecca, the holiest city for muslims.

Pilgrimage- a journey to a foreign place to find new meaning to life or connection to a higher power.

​5 Pillars- Belief, prayer, charity, fasting, and pilgrimage.
