PRESENT SIMPLE

​Present simple is used to:

1. Talk about general facts, states and situations.

   -The purpose of business is to make a profit.

2. To talk about regular or repeated actions, permanent situations.

   -Peter works for BMW.​

3. To talk about timetabled future events. ​

   -The class starts at 4:00.​

​Present continuous is used to:

1. Talk about an action in progress

​Present Perfect is used to:

1. Talk about actions which finished recently or caused a present result.​

2. Talk about actions that started in the past but keep affecting the present.

3. Talk about experiences in life.

   -We have never been to Antarctica.​

​Present Perfect Continuous

​Present Perfect Continuous usage:

It is used to talk about a recently completed action. The focus is on the activity, not the result.

-The academy has been changing the procedures.​

   -She read the book before entering to the class.​

2. To talk about past states

​Past Perfect Continuous

​Use the past perfect continuous to mention an action in progress before something else happened.
