This is your first day and you need to work out what is wrong with our two patients today.

Hamda is 40 years old and has been experiencing pain in her hands and hips.

She has noticed that her hands are swollen and she is finding it hard to get out of bed in the morning as she is stiff.

He doesn't like milk and avoids the sun.

Recently, he has been having back pain and he broke his arm falling over.

• ​It is a chronic disease which develops slowly.

  ​

• The bones become weak and porous and can break easily

  ​

• It affects people who do not exercise and have low levels of calcium and vitamin D in their body.

  ​

• ​Affects women more than men!
