What happened during the Green Flag over Texas
When Mexico was struggling to become independant A guy named Jose Gutierrez built an army called the Rebublican Army of the North and continued the fight in Texas flying a solid green flag wile doing it. They invaded Texas in 1812 and took Nacogdoches, and they laid seig in La Bahia, and after 4 months of laying seig they coudnt take out the spanish so they went to San Antonio, and then took out the spanish out outside of San Anontio. They then declared Texas independant in 1813, and their governer was brutally executed and many soldiers were upset enogh to leave and the ones that stayed replaced Gutierrez.

Why did Jose Gutierrez come to Texas?
As Mexico was struggling to become independent Gutierrez thoght Texas should be independent too. He then decided to continue the fight in Texas.

Jose and the Republican Army of the North got to Texas in 1812, flying a solid green flag and took the Nacogdoches at La Bahia during the expedition.

After a 4 month seige in La Bahia The army went to San Antonio after a 4 month seige, and the defeated the Spanish army outside of San Antonio
