In Canada, there are two official languages: English and French. The national anthem has English and French versions. Packaging and government-issued documents are in both languages.

Not everyone speaks French and English perfectly, but if you go to school in an English-speaking part of Canada, you will learn French in school, and vice-versa.

At public events, many people mix the English and French lyrics of the national anthem.
