Literature Circles
Introduction
2
A Lit Circle is like a mini book club. For this quarter, you and a group of 4 to 5 peers will read a book together, hence creating your own mini book club.
SIntroduction
What is a Lit Circle?
3
You and your group will pick a book you would all like to read. There are 4 genres to choose from and 5 groups, so two groups will be reading books in the same genre.
Introduction
How does it work?
4
Over 10 class periods you and your group will read your book together. You will have a daily reading log to fill out that will help you analyze different parts of your story like characters, setting, tone, etc.
Introduction
Then what...
5
Every class that we read, each group member will have a job such as timekeeper, notetaker, discussion leader and more. It is the group's responsibility to make sure everyone takes their turns.

In the Book Report Folder you will find a page that lists what group you are in. Some groups have 6, others have 5. There are 5 groups total.

Check your group
7
In this folder you will also find the book option list.
If I were you I would first look on that list and see what you want to read. Then I would message your group mates and see what they want to read. If you can all agree on one book, then you can put that in the Lit Circle Book Option Discussion Board.
If you can't agree, then you can each put the book you want to read in the chat and I will pick the one with the most comments.
