​What is Quizizz?

Quizizz is an online platform for educators and trainers to create interactive presentations and quizzes. They provide teachers the option of having students compete in real time, or complete the work at their own pace (referred to as 'Homework Mode'), using gamified experiences to engage students. Along with the ability to create quizzes, Quizizz assists teachers with grading, even looking at the data to find trends among the entire class.

​Started by two math teachers in India, Quizizz is now used worldwide, and, according to the Quizizz website, it is used by "1 in 2 US schools" (About Us).

​Founders

The two teachers founded Quizizz while teaching math in India. The also founded a similar venture previously called WizenWorld, a role playing game where players would practice math concepts to complete quests.

Have built a marketplace for teachers to share their Quizizz, this locks many people into the platform and also provides positive network effects.

Strengths

​Doesn't have a very strong brand recognition in Canada compared to some of its competitors.

Weaknesses

With their new "Lessons" feature, they have the potential to provide teachers a powerful alternative to PowerPoint.

There is an ongoing mindset shift relating to gamified learning that Quizizz has the potential to be at the forefront of.

Opportunities

This industry is pretty heavily saturated, with many of their competitors offering similar products. Kahoot! for example has a stronger brand recognition among students as it has been around for longer.

Threats

Investment Recommendation

After my analysis of Quizizz, I would recommend investment in this company. They are well established within the US market, delivering a high quality product that is backed by research. They are regularly innovating, providing a lot of opportunity for growth in different areas that differentiates them from their competition. With the increasing demand for companies that provide interactive and engaging remote education tools, I believe an investment in Quizizz will yield substantial long term results.
