Decoding to Read Fluently

Some words look and sound alike. If we read too fast, we might say the wrong word. It is important for readers to pay attention to the beginning and end sounds of words so they can read the correct word!

The beginning sound of the word is the frst part. ---> blend

The end sound of the word is the last part. ---> blend

Example: The gecko tries to blend in with its surroundings. (blend, bend)
