​Telling the Time in English

​

​The long hand is the minute hand.

(kim dài hơn dùng để chỉ phút)​

​The short hand is the hour hand.

(kim ngắn hơn dùng để chỉ giờ)​

​Cách 1: Say the hour first and then the minutes. ( Hour + Minutes)

​ (Đọc giờ trước, phút sau)

​

Ví dụ:​

• 8:05 - It's eight Oh-five (the Oh is said like the letter O)

• 9:11 - It's nine eleven

• 2:34 - It's two thirty-four

​Cách 2: Say the minutes first and then the hour.  (đọc phút trước, giờ sau)

(Minutes + PAST / TO + Hour)

​

Ví dụ:​

• 2:35 - It's twenty-five to three

• (1 tiếng = 60 phút --> Bây giờ là 2h35 nên còn 60 - 35 = 25 phút nữa mới đến 3 giờ --> 3 giờ kém 25 phút )

• 11:20 - It's twenty past eleven
