Reported speech-extra

​​1. STATEMENT : lời phát biểu ( trình bày)

Ex: She said, “ I won’t forget to go to the shopping “ 

à She said she wouldn’t forget to go to the shopping.

​2. QUESTIONS IN REPORTED SPEECH (CÂU HỎI TRONG CÂU GIÁN TIẾP)

* Khi đổi từ câu hỏi trực tiếp sang câu hỏi gián tiếp, phải đưa về dạng câu khẳng định (KHÔNG ĐẢO NGỮ)

* Thường kết hợp với các động từ tường thuật sau: ask  /  inquire (thẩm vấn, hỏi)  /  want to know  /  wonder (thắc mắc, tự hỏi)

​​2a. YES-NO QUESTION (thêm IF hoặc WHETHER)

e.g  She asked me: “Are you a student?

       -> She asked me   if/whether I was a sudent.

       Mary said: “Did Tom go to school yesterday?”

       -> Mary wondered   if/whether Tom had gone to school the day before

​​2b. WH- QUESTIONS (không thêm IF hoặc WHETHER , chỉ lặp lại các nghi vấn từ)

e.g I asked her: “Where do you live?”

      -> I asked her   where   she lived

   Peter’s friends asked him: “What were you doing at 7 last night?”

-> Peter’s friends asked him   what   he had been doing at 7 the previous night.

​​3. IMPERATIVES IN REPORTED SPEECH (CÂU CẦU KHIẾN TRONG CÂU GIÁN TIẾP)

* Thường kết hợp với các động từ tường thuật sau: tell (bảo)  /  ask (yêu cầu) /command, order (ra lệnh, yêu cầu)

e.g The mother said : “Go to bed!”

     -> The mother told the child to go to bed

       “Don’t close the window”, Ann said to Daisy.

-> Ann asked Daisy not to close the window

​​4. CONDITIONAL SENTENCE IN REPORTED SPEECH:

Câu điều kiện loại 1, thay đổi thì . Câu điều kiện loại 2,3 giữ nguyên thì.

Ex:  “If I hear anything new, I’ll let you know,” Paul said 

->  Paul said if he heard anything new, he would let me know

- “If I knew her number, I could tell you,” Peter said    

-> Peter said If he knew her number, he could tell me.

- “If you had come you would  have met many old friends” Liz said
