• Did I get the first winner in the photography competition?

• (+) Subject + to be (was/were) + adjective/adverb

• (-) Subject + was/were + not + adjective/adverb

• (?) Was/were + subject + adjective/adverb?

  Example

• She was absent to festival music two days ago

• She was not absent to festival music two days ago

• Was she absent to festival music two days ago?

• (-) S + had + not + past participle (V-3)
