Tawheed Al Asma was sifaat

Tawheed Al Asma was sifaat is the belief in Allah’s Names and attributes. Such

as He has described Himself with and what His Messengers have told us.

Allah says:

((There is no one like Him. He Alone hears all and sees all))

Allah’s names are known as Al-Asmaa’-ul-Husna.( the beautiful names of Allah

Believing in this type of Tawheed also means that we don’t try to change the

meaning of them. Some examples of the Asma was sifaat of Allah are: That he

is All Knowing, all Seeing, all Hearing. He is the Creator.

Tawheed Al Asma-was-sifaat means

Tawheed Al Asma-was sifaat is the belief in Allah’s

Names and characteristics or attributes as He has

described Himself with and what His Messengers have

told us.

An example: one of Allah’s names is Al Qawiyy or the

Powerful.

Allah is One, but he has 99 names or attributes that we

are made aware of.

How did the early Muslims understand Allah’s names and Attributes?


1. Affirmation: This means to affirm for Allah the Attributes that He or His Prophet (PBUH) affirmed for Him.

  1. Negation: This means we must negate from Allah whatever Allah has negated from Himself or what the Messenger (PBUH) negated from Him.

Allah's Names are Tawqifi (bound by a religious text and not amenable to personal opinion).

We should always understand the meaning of Allah’s names and attributes the way God (SWT)or prophet (PBUH) explains the mand it is permissible to use His Names shown by Islam and not permissible to use other names.

The Benefits of knowing Allah’s names and Attributes.

1.Whoever learns them by heart (and lives by them) will

enter paradise.

The prophet (pbuh) said: Allah has ninety nine names;

one hundred except one. Whoever learns them by
heart will enter Paradise.”

2.One of the best ways to have knowledge of Allah is by

understanding his most beautiful names.

3.Knowing Allah’s names increases our level of faith.

appreciate him more.
