WHat is a phrase?

​a phrase is a group of related words that is used as a single part of speech and that does not contain both a verb and a subject.

Examples:

verb phrase - have been waiting (no subject)

prepositional phrase - during the storm (no subject or verb)

infinitive phrase - to watch closely (no subject)

Prepostional phrase

​A prepositional phrase includes a preposition, the object of a preposition and any modifiers of that object.

Examples:

Melissa Umbridge of the Blue Knights is a hero to all.

​PREpositional Phrase: the adjective phrase

A prepositional phrase that modifies a noun or a pronoun is called an adjective phrase.

It tells what kind or which one.

Examples:

Two of my friends are making a video about school life.

The video won't include all of the students in our class.

It will relate the activities of five students at school and in their neighborhood.

Perpositional Phrase: The Adverb Phrase
