Disk

• When you show up for a doctor’s

appointment, you’re normally asked to
wait in a waiting area. Why would this
be?

• If the clinic didn’t have a waiting area,

what would happen?

• A buffer is a waiting area for data being

transferred between the very fast CPU
and a slow device.
