Demobilization refers to the process of ending military operations, halting wartime production, and shifting to a peace time economy.

Many believed the US would suffer greatly from demobilzation but instead it succeeded greatly! How come?

The G.I. Bill gave special benefits to returning veterans, including unemployment payments while
they were looking for work, mortgages at low rates so that they could buy their own homes, low interest loans to start businesses, and money to enable them to pursue further education.

War Veterans quickly married and had children, leading to surges in birth rates. Between 3.5 and 4.2 million babies were born each year for more than a decade, hence, BABY BOOMERS!

New Technologies in the assembly line, aircraft and synthetic materials gave you the US new job opportunities! Increased production of cars meant cars were purchased at a lower price. Americans were cruising!

The advancement of the jet engine expanded mechanical jobs and electrical jobs as well as service jobs with the commercial airline field.

Americans can now watch the news and sporting events. Only 4 channels were available which kinda sucks but these tv's are great for playing smash bros.

Levittown was the first truly mass-produced suburb and is widely regarded as the archetype for postwar suburbs throughout the country. William Levitt, who assumed control of Levitt & Sons in 1954, is considered the father of modern suburbia in the United States.

The Suburban life became the representation of 1950's Americana with a white picket fence, wife and kids and an American car. More Americans moved to the suburbs than the cities.

Eisenhower was impressed by German highway system and how they transported troops. He believed the US should have a similar system.
Congress passed the Federal Highway Act that lead to the construction of todays highway system.
The highway system encouraged middle class Americans to move to the Suburbs since they can drive to work easier.
