Using "Do, Play, Go" with Activity

ใช้กับกีฬาหรือกิจกรรมสันทนาการที่เล่นเพื่อพักผ่อน กีฬาที่เล่นได้เพียงลำพัง ไม่ต้องเล่นเป็นทีม กีฬาที่ไม่ใช้ลูกบอล กิจกรรมหรือกีฬาที่เหมือนเป็นศิลปะการต่อสู้ เช่น

• I do yoga. (ฉันเล่นโยคะ)

• Amphon does karate every day.

  (อำพลเล่นคาราเต้ทุกวัน)

Using "Do"

โดยทั่วไป Play จะใช้กับกีฬาที่เล่นเป็นทีม มีกฎ กติกา, เกม และกีฬาที่ใช้ลูกบอล  เช่น

• Tanakorn often plays football.

  (ธนากรเล่นฟุตบอลบ่อย ๆ)

• Who wants to play tennis with me?

  (ใครอยากเล่นเทนนิสกับฉันบ้าง)

​Using "Play"

โดยทั่วไป Go จะใช้กับกีฬาหรือกิจกรรมที่ลงท้ายด้วย -ing ซึ่งคำกริยา Go จะสื่อถึงว่าไปที่ไหนสักแห่งเพื่อเล่นกีฬานี้ เช่น

• I love to go jogging in the morning.

  (ฉันชอบไปวิ่งจ๊อกกิ้งตอนเช้า)

• I will go swimming on Sunday.

  (วันอาทิตย์ฉันจะไปว่ายน้ำ)

ข้อควรระวัง

ห้ามใส่ to ระหว่าง go กับกิจกรรม -ing เช่น เราจะไม่่ใช้ going to swimming แต่ใช้ going swimming

กีฬาและกิจกรรมที่ลงท้ายด้วย -ing ทั้งหมดนี้คือ Gerund form

ข้อยกเว้น

เราใช้ Do กับ 3 กิจกรรมที่ลงท้ายด้วย -ing คือ do boxing (ชกมวย), do bodybuilding (เพาะกาย) และ do weightlifting (ยกน้ำหนัก) เพราะคำเหล่านี้ไม่ได้สื่อว่าไปที่ไหนสักแห่งเพื่อเล่นกีฬาหรือทำกิจกรรมนั้นเหมือนกับกิจกรรมอื่น ๆ ที่ลงท้ายด้วย -ing

ข้อยกเว้น

กอล์ฟ (Golf) ถ้าเป็นการแข่งขันจะใช้ Play เช่น

• Ariya Jutanugarn plays golf. (เอรียา จุฑานุกาล เล่นกอล์ฟ)

แต่เราสามารถใช้ go golfing ได้ถ้าเป็นการเล่นเพื่อผ่อนคลาย เพื่อความสุข เช่น

• They'll go golfing at the weekend. (พวกเขาจะไปตีกอล์ฟสุดสัปดาห์นี้)

Example

ใช้ don’t like + V. ing ในความหมาย don’t enjoy/ hate แปลว่า “ไม่ชอบ”

ตัวอย่าง

I don’t like walking in the rain.

ผมไม่ชอบเดินตากฝน

She doesn’t like swimming in the sea.

เธอไม่ชอบว่ายน้ำในทะเล

​Using "Don't like"

ใช้ like + V. ing ในความหมาย to enjoy แปลว่า “ชอบ, สนุก”
