How have these two authors expressed their relationships with nature? After reading and analyzing "Calypso Borealis," an essay by John Muir, and William Wordsworth's poem "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud," write an essay in which you describe how each author views nature and answer the question. Support your discussion with evidence from the text.

1. The first read - Read the essay before doing anything else in the lesson and write down your first thoughts. These thoughts should not be dismissed because they can help you in writing the process. These words are your initial thoughts and feelings about the essay. You are to share these thoughts in the next slide.

2. The second reading - When you read a second time, there are things that you look for and pay attention to. You are presented with the words of the author, the author's purpose, the different appeals, and sometimes the images the author wants the reader to have.

3. The third reading - When you read a third time, you try to connect to what you already know and understand from your experiences pertaining to the topic the author is writing about.
