Qu’est-ce que questions = WH questions → What?

You can see from these examples that the answers are free and can be different. 

So, the question word qu'est-ce que is for asking open questions. It is placed in general at the beginning of the sentence.

Qu'est ce que turns to qu'est ce qu' in front of a vowel.

​A common and useful sentence is “Qu'est-ce que c'est ?” which means What is this?

a) Prepare 3 to 6 questions to know more about the sports students from our class do. You must use question words and build sentences with verbs such as FAIRE and JOUER but also AIMER, ADORER, DéTESTER. Choose your challenge.

b) Write your questions down in the worksheet.

c) Stand up and ask your questions to your classmates. To present a complete and reliable survey, ask all of your classmates.

d) Present your results, in French, in your notebook:

• Example: 4 personnes font du foot. / 5 personnes adorent le volley-ball

f) Compare your results with a classmate. Did you end up with the same conclusions? Why?
