Unit One, Lesson Five; The Frozen Hearted War

​Uneasy Relations

Sanctuary had always had an negative relation with Russia due to its help with stopping the Soviet Union. This had caused an eventual war. This war was created from the combination of this negative relation and paranoia after Sanctuary had built the many nuclear reactors.

​The Rush of 2803

The First Battle in the Frozen Hearted war, Millions of Russian Solders had attempted to charge into Sanctuary. Though, they were stopped by the Great Dome. This led to a large battle where Sanctuarian Snipers would peek out of holes in the dome and the solders would have to kill them before they took out another of their crew. This ended in a large victory for Sanctuary.

​Battle of The Bombs

Now knowing of the defensive potential of The Great Dome, Russia had sent many solders back to this dome, instead with demolitions equipment. This had heavily blown up in their face (pun intended) when the weapons once again simply bounced off the Great Dome. This leading to another Sanctuarian Victory.

​The Secret Squad

The Secret Squad was one of four secret weapons that Sanctuary had used in the war. The Secret Squad being one of the more ethical. The Secret Squad was a large group of Sanctuarian Snipers who were heavily trained. This was not the largest military but they were very heavily trained.

Project: Forevermore

Due to the low military power, Sanctuary decided to start new military projects. One of said projects was Project: Forevermore. This was an attempt to make their soldiers stronger. They have more agility, power, endurance, and even magic. Though, what they created was horrifying.

​The Horror

What resulted from these tests were large abominations of flesh and bone. Though, more powerful then any human. These creatures were called Mimiks for their ability to mimic human voices in attempt to lure its prey for consumption. These creatures were locked in the Vault, never to see the light of day until it was open once more.

​The Nuclear Test

Unhappy with the many losses Russia had gained, they had decided to take desperate measures. This being using one nuclear bomb at the coast of Sanctuary in hopes to shatter the Great Dome. This bomb, labeled the Nuclear Nightmare for its destructive potential, had simply bounced off the Great Dome into the Ocean. Many now fear activating it.

Project: Hunter

Project: Hunter was a military project again focused on Military. This, being somewhat successful. The goal of this was the same as the goal for Project:Forevermore. To become more powerful. This being much less gory then its counterpart, and more successful then it to. Creating a few solders that were incredibly powerful. Though, this was not without its negative effects. This will be seen soon.

​Battle of The Hunt

The Battle of the Hunt was the first test of the Great Hunters on the battlefield. This had led to a massacre of enemy troops due to the immense power of these solders. However, these solders did not return. They had went AWOL and became travelling assassins and mercenaries. These solders were not fully seen again until the War Against Humanity..

​Project: Violet

Project: Violet was another attempt to use genetic engineering to strengthen the military. Though, one that had actually succeeded. Not having been as overly powerful as The Hunters and not as catastrophic as the Eternals. This had simply allowed the people to live longer and take a bit more to kill for their cells would regenerate.

The Hunger

An event that is widely known to have helped Sanctuary win the war. A singular Mimik had managed to escape the vault. Breaching enemy lines and leading to a mass genocide known as The Hunger. This was when the Mimik had led millions to their death to grow its own mass and satisfy the constant hunger their creation brought to them.

​Peace Made

With both nations war-torn through their questionable tactics, Peace was finally declared in 2800. This took place in Illis where the general at the time, Claire Barrens, was promptly assassinated by someone in the crowd. This had been a bittersweet day for Sanctuary. They had won the war, but at great cost.
