How to know if it is an imperative sentence?

  • Affirmative: sentence always starts with based form of verb (without to).

  • eg: sit, go, stand, do not, write.

  • Negative: Do not (don't) + based form of verb (without to).

We can also add please to the sentence:

  • Please eat your rice.

  • Please write down the date.

  • Please sit down.

  • Please stand up.
