Question and data collection

Our question was: “What is the distance between the Earth and the Moon?”

We collected our data by asking 30 people this question and making them guess
by gut what they thought the answer is and writing them up in our Google Sheets
table, we then used it to calculate everything else. The answer is: 384K km

Average (Mean), Median, Mode

The Average (Mean) is a number representing the halfway point of all of the data by adding all of the
numbers up and dividing them by the number of results.

Our Average (Mean) is: 382.04K km

The Median is a number also representing the halfway point but from biggest to smallest.

Our Median is: 381.50K km

The Mode is the number that is most used among the data.

Our Mode is: 500K km

Standard Deviation and Variables

The Standard Deviation is a way of seeing how much the data differs from the
actual answer.

Our Standard Deviation is: 205.6158836K km

We were also asked to calculate it with +3 and -3 variables.

STDEV (+3): 998.88K km

STDEV (-3): -234.8K km
