PASSIVE VOICE

SIMPLE PRESENT, PAST AND FUTURE

WHY DO WE USE PASSIVE VOICE?

• We don't want to talk about who did the action

• We don't know who did the action

• The object is more interesting or important than the subject itself

• Pizza was eaten

• Pizza was eaten by us

• Sang Dewi is sung by Lyodra

• The computer will be repaired tomorrow by someone

• We ate pizza (past)

• Lyodra sings sang dewi (present)

• Somebody will repair the computer tomorrow (Future)

Change of pronoun

• Identify subject, verb and object in active sentence

• Move the object in active sentence into the subject in the passive sentence

• Don't forget change the pronoun also

• Identify the tense used in active sentence

• Add verb participle (V3)
