It is the bell. Class is done. Kids got up and left their desks as they got their backpacks, class work, and lunch boxes and then went to their spots. A teacher will pick Cass up from class.
3
Many kids got on buses or left with moms and dads, but Cass did not go with them. Her mom is still at work. Cass has Class Six. This makes Cass a bit glum and upset.
4
“Kids have fun in Class Six,” the teacher tells Cass. “Miss Bond makes grand plans and the kids help. It will be fun.”
Cass steps into Class Six. Some kids sit, but others hop and jump.
5
“Miss Bond, this is Cass. Cass, this is Miss Bond,” the teacher tells them.
“Cass is in Class Six,” he adds. Miss Bond grins at Cass. “It is Frog Day in Class Six, Cass. You can jump like a frog with the kids in Class Six.”
6
Two kids hop up. “This is Fran,” Miss Bond tells Cass, “and this is Ken.
Fran and Ken will help you.”
Cass cracks a grin at Fran and Ken.
“What is Frog Day?” Cass asks. Fran and Ken just laugh and jump.
7
“Miss Bond plans the days for us in Class Six,” Ken tells Cass. “Today is about frogs—and frogs hop!”
“Will you hop with us, Cass?” asks Fran. Then Cass and Fran and Ken hop with kids in Class Six.
