Dave takes out a map. “It is so hot! We should go for a swim. We can take a swim at Crane Lake.”

Liz grins and nods. “That is not a bad plan, Dave. I do not swim well, but I can wade. It should be fun!”

The pals go on to Crane Lake. Dave and Kate swim. Tuck can swim, but he wades with Liz.

What is that flat thing?” Liz asks. “That is a raft,” said Tuck. “Shall

we take it out, Liz? It will be fun.”

Liz and Tuck go to the dock. Tuck gives Liz a swim vest. “Use this vest,” he tells her. “It will help if you end up in the lake.”

Liz puts on the swim vest. She and Tuck get on the raft.

Dave and Kate swim to them and hop onto the raft. “I can see so many fish!” Liz tells them.

Kate and Dave bend to look. “Look out!” Tuck yells as the raft

rocks and tips them into the lake.

Up pop Dave, Kate, Tuck, and Liz. No one is hurt. Tuck began to laugh, and then Liz, Dave, and Kate laughed with him. Look at Liz!

“Tuck, this vest helped me, but I cannot swim like this,” she tells him.

Tuck helped Liz get off her back. “This should be better, Liz,” he said. “Kick! That is it! We will help you swim back. So, was it fun, Liz?”

“It was the best, but I will always take a swim vest if I go on a raft!”
