Refresher: Multiply Fractions

​Multiplying Fractions

Let's start off with a quick refresher on how to multiply and divide fractions. First, I will show you a strategy on how to multiply fractions.

--- x -- = -- I got 4/14 because I multiplied 1 and 4 and got 4. Then, I multiplied 2 and 7 and
2 7 14 got 14. 1 and 4 are the numerators. 2 and 7 are the denominators.

Now that you've had a little refresher on how to multiply fractions, we can now divide fractions. I will show you a strategy on how to do this.

4 6 4 2 2 and find the reciprocal of the second fraction, or flip it. 1/6 = 6/1.
