A noun is a name of person , place or thing. You can recognize by its forms. A noun has a singular form and a plural form. The plural of most regular noun is formed by adding-s or es to their singular form.
1. Add - s to the singular form of most nouns.
example: oppressor- oppressors
ideal- ideals
2. Add -es to nouns ending in s, ss, z, ch , sh and x
example: bus- buses glass - glasses
fox-foxes quiz- quizzes
3. If noun ends in f or fe, change f to v and add-es or s
example: elf- elves
life-lives
Some exceptions are:
roof-roofs, safe-safes

4. If noun ends in y after a consonant, change y to i and add -es
example: city-cities opportunity- opportunities
country-countries
5. If nouns ends in y after a vowel, simply add -s to the singular form
example: toy-toys turkey- turkeys
6. Add-es to some nouns ending in o after a consonant.
examples: hero-heroes
echo-echoes
7. Simply add- s to other nouns ending in o after a vowel
example: radio-radios
piano-pianos
