Cooking is something that we usually do every day, especially for woman. Cooking can be fun if we like it, but there are some people lazy cooking or even afraid of it because they cannot create delicious food. To help them, people who cannot cook, they can see recipes. Recipes are very helpful. When we want to make delicious food, we need recipe because there are steps that can lead us in it. Recipe is an example of procedure text.

Do you like cooking?

Another example is book instruction. When you buy a new TV or a new phone cell, there must be a book instruction in the box. Book instruction also one of the examples of procedure text. When you want to download something from the internet, there are steps before we do that. Those steps also procedure text.

Procedure text is a text that explains or helps us how to make or use something.

Social Function

Its social function is to describe how something is completely done through a sequence of series.

Communicative Purpose

Communicative purpose of this text is to describe how something is made through a sequence of actions or steps.

HOW TO MAKE ‘SAMBAL KOREK’
Do you like spicy? Most of Indonesian people like ‘sambal’. They usually eat rice, fish, or another menu mixed with sambal. Sambal korek is one of the famous sambal in Indonesia. To make this sambal is so easy. It takes ten minutes to prepare these ingredients.

Ingredients: Seven pieces of red chilli, two cloves of garlic, and one tablespoon of salt.

Steps:
1. The first is you have to wash the chilli.
2. Then, you peel and wash the garlic.
3. Put all the ingredients in your blender, including the salt.
4. Add a little of water.
5. After that, you can blend them all in two minutes.
6. Do not blend them too creamy.
7. The last is, put the ‘sambal’ into the small bowl.
8. It is really good if served with hot rice and fried fish.
