What are cognates? 
Los Cognados

Cognates are words that:

1. Exist in at least two different languages (Inglés - Español)

2. Will often sound and look similar

   Secret - Secreto

3. They have the same meaning.

Cognates help!

When learning a new language, it's helpful to look for cognates and use them to guess the meaning of what you are reading or hearing.

Watch out for FALSE Cognates that look like cognates but are actually FAKE. For example:
