How to Write an Electron Configuration:
1. Start with the shell or period number
2. Followed by the type of orbital (s,p,d and f)
3. Finally the superscript (# that goes above the letter s, p, d or f1) indicates the number of electrons in the orbital
Example: Be = 1s2 2s2
6
I need a reader with a strong set of LUNGS TO READ WHAT IS IN RED!!
Orbitals are s, p, d and f.
**Orbitals d and f are special. Orbital d will begin at 3d not 4d. 4 and 5f orbitals will be separated and added after Lanthium (La) and Actium (Ac) due to spacing and ordering of the Periodic Table.
