Information Questions in French

Most information questions can be used alone as a single word or expression OR with more words to create a more in-depth question.

Like in English, you can just ask: What? Who? Why?

Or you can get more in-depth:
What do you like to eat for dinner?
Who makes dinner at your house?
Why are we having meatloaf again?

To create more in-depth questions, you can usually:
*add it to est-ce que

*use inversion

Who do you like?

With whom are you going to the park?

Qui est-ce que tu aimes?

Qui aimes-tu?
Avec qui est-ce que tu vas au parc?

Qui = Who?
Avec qui = With whom
De qui = About whom
Pour qui? = For whom?
À qui = To whom?

Quoi?

Qu'est-ce que = What is OR What does/do...? (*hint* This is literally
QUE + EST-CE QUE smushed together to make a question. DO NOT add another est-ce que)
Que = What? (used with inversion only)
Quoi? = only used as a one word question = What?

Pourquoi = Why?
parce que (turns to parce qu' in front of a word that starts with a vowel) = because
