PENGERTIAN

Greeting card merupakan salah satu bentuk short functional text
Greeting card (Kartu Ucapan) adalah Teks berupa kartu yang berisi ilustrasi dan kata-kata yang diberikan oleh seseorang kepada orang lain.

SOCIAL FUNCTION

Fungsi sosial greeting card adalah menyampaikan doa, harapan, ucapan turut berbahagia, hingga simpati/belasungkawa kepada orang lain dalam bentuk kartu.

STRUCTURE OF THE TEXT

1. Receiver (Penerima)

Receiver adalah penerima surat, yang biasanya letaknya di pojok atas kiri surat.

Kata yang digunakan: to……, dear…, to my beloved….
Contohnya: To Bobo, Dear Bobo, dan To my beloved Bobo.

2. Body ( isi)

Isi surat adalah ucapan greeting yang biasanya berupa harapan, doa, selamat ataupun simpati.

Bisa juga berupa quotes atau gambar

3. Sender (Pengirim)

Sender atau pengirim ditulis umumnya di pojok bawah kanan surat.

Kata yang digunakan: from……, your best friend …, dan lain-lain.

Contohnya :From Bona dan your best friend Bona.

JENIS-JENIS GREETING CARD

Birthday card: kartu ucapan yang dibuat untuk memberikan selamat ulang tahun kepada seseorang. Bisa juga untuk mendoakan agar kerabat yang berulang tahun selalu sehat dan bahagia.

• Getting Well Card: kartu ucapan ini diberikan kepada seseorang yang sedang sakit agar lekas sembuh.

• Graduation card: kartu ucapan yang dibuat untuk merayakan kelulusan seseorang dari sekolah, misalnya lulus dari bangku kuliah.

• Congratulation Card: kartu ucapan atas pencapaian atau keberhasilan seseorang.

• Public/National Holiday Card: kartu ucapan untuk merayakan hari besar perayaan.

• Thanking Card: kartu ucapan terima kasih atas kebaikan atau bantuan orang lain.

• Baby Born Card: kartu ucapan atas kelahiran seorang bayi.

• Wedding Card: kartu ucapan berisi selamat dan doa atas terlaksananya pernikahan orang lain.
