Purpose for Drama Structures

Dramatic Action increases the suspense of the story through the

actions of the characters and events

Acts break the play up into sections, may change settings or time.

Scenes are the smaller sections inside of an act that build suspense,
provide comic relief (a break from the tension).

The purpose of a plays structure (acts and scenes) is to break up the

story into smaller parts, build suspense and to allow for setting
changes.
