Plurals
In French, when you make a noun plural, it’s not just the noun that changes. The article changes, the adjectives change, the verb might even change if the noun is the subject.
Le garçon est beau. →
Les garçons sont beaux.
L’élève est intelligente. →
Les élèves sont intelligentes.
Most nouns and adjectives simply add an -s to make a plural.
garçon → garçons
Nouns and adjectives that already end in -s, no change.
français → français
Nouns and adjectives that end in -x, no change.
vieux → vieux
Nouns and adjectives that end in -u, add an -x.
bureau → bureaux
