​What is heat transfer?

Heat transfer is when a hot object transfers heat to a cold object. For example when you hold ice you hand is hot and the ice is cold. So the hand puts heat into the cold ice hence melting the ice.

There are also 3 types of heat transfer. Conduction, convection, and radiation.

Convection is when the heat from an object effects another object because of the heat flow. Hot air goes up and cold air goes down. So a hot air balloon would be convection because of the fire emiting heat and causin the balloon to rise.

Radition is when a hot object sends heat via elecromagnetic waves. Then the heat reaches the cold object. But radiation can be emited from thousands of miles away like the sun or a few inches away like a microwave.
