Reading is composed of two factors: Decoding & Comprehension
Decoding: it is the process dependent partly on phonemic awareness that leads to word recognition
Phonemes: the smallest unit of speech that help to distinguish one word from another through distinct sounds
Phonemic Awareness: the understanding that language is composed of phonemes
Comprehension: the process by which the meaning of words are integrated into coherent sentence structures

Writing is composed of two factors: Spelling & Ideation
Spelling: a representation of phonemes within a language that gives meaning to pronunciation sequences
Ideation: the ability to generation and organize ideas
