Tinker v. Des Moines

In the pivotal legal case known as Tinker v. Des Moines, students were suspended for wearing black armbands to school to protest the Vietnam War. However, the Supreme Court ruled that students maintain their constitutional rights, including freedom of speech, while at school. This decision affirmed that students can peacefully express their views on campus, as long as it doesn't significantly disrupt the educational environment. It marked a significant moment in recognizing the rights of students within the school system.
