Past Simple Tense (Geçmiş Basit Zaman)

​Where to use:

Past Simple Tense, geçmişte belirli bir zamanda gerçekleşmiş ve tamamlanmış eylemleri ifade etmek için kullanılır. Genellikle geçmişte bir kez gerçekleşen veya belli bir zaman diliminde tekrar eden olayları anlatmak için kullanılır. Düzenli fiillerde fiilin köküne "-ed" eki eklenerek oluşturulur.
Ancak düzensiz fiillerin farklı bir yapısı vardır ve ezberlenmelidir.

1. Geçen hafta bir film izledim. (Last week, I watched a movie.)

2. Dün arkadaşlarımla buluştum. (Yesterday, I met my friends.)

3. Çocukken İngilizce öğrendim. (I learned English when I was a child.)

4. Annem bana bir hediye aldı. (My mother bought me a present.)

1. She didn't finish her homework on time. (Zamanında ödevini bitirmedi.)

2. We didn't see him yesterday. (Dün onu görmedik.)

3. I didn't go to the party last night. (Dün gece partiye gitmedim.)

Past Simple Tense içeren cümlelerde soru ve olumsuz cümlelerde DID yardımcı fiilini unutmayalım!

1. Did she call you last week? (Geçen hafta seni aradı mı?)

2. Did they go to the concert on Saturday? (Cumartesi günü konsere gittiler mi?)

3. Did you watch the match yesterday? (Dün maçı izledin mi?)

Bu örneklerde de görüldüğü üzere did fiilimiz do fiilinin geçmiş hali olduğu için did den sonraki ana fiil her zaman yalın halde kullanılır!

Geçmiş Zaman Zarfları

2. last week/month/year (geçen hafta/ay/yıl)

3. two days/weeks/months/years ago (iki gün/hafta/ay/yıl önce)

4. in 1990 (1990'da)

5. when I was a child (çocukken)

1. Olumlu Cümleler:

   • She acquired her PhD in 2015. (2015 yılında doktora derecesini aldı.)

   • He explored the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu last summer. (Geçen yaz Machu Picchu'nun antik kalıntılarını keşfetti.)

   • They constructed a state-of-the-art laboratory for their research project. (Araştırma projesi için son teknoloji laboratuvarı inşa ettiler.)

2. Olumsuz Cümleler:

• She didn't attend the conference last month. (Geçen ay konferansa katılmadı.)

• He didn't discover the solution to the problem until much later. (Çözümü problemi çok daha sonra keşfetmedi.)

• They didn't obtain the necessary permits for the construction project. (İnşaat projesi için gerekli izinleri almadılar.)

Soru Cümleleri:

• Did she receive the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2020? (2020'de Nobel Edebiyat Ödülü'nü aldı mı?)

• Did he present his findings at the scientific conference? (Buluşlarını bilimsel konferansta sundu mu?)

• Did they conduct experiments to test their hypothesis? (Hipotezlerini test etmek için deneyler yaptılar mı?)
