  • Direct Address

  • Rhetorical Question

  • Alliteration and Rhyme

  • Imperative Verbs

  • Exaggeration

  • Repetition

4

The rule of three

It involves using three elements, such as words, phrases, or ideas, to create a memorable and impactful message. This feature presents adjectives or examples in groups of three.
Eg.

I came, I saw, I conquered

The institution keeps getting Bigger, Better, Stronger Visit tranquil, magnificent and memorable Kathmandu

5

Direct Address

Direct address is when you talk directly to the reader, using the pronouns 'we', 'you' or 'us'. This is a great technique for persuading the reader, as it suggests that the reader and writer are on the same side.

Eg.

We must not give up

How would you feel?

That should not happen to us

6

Alliteration and Rhyme

They can be so memorable that they will stick in the reader's mind and persuade them eventually

Eg.

Claire, close your cluttered closet. The big bad bear bored the baby bunnies by the bushes.

7

Rhetorical Questions

A rhetorical question is a question asked in order to make a point, rather than to get an answer.

Eg.

What could be better than this?

Do we really want our planet to survive?

8

Imperative Verbs

They instruct the reader to do something.
Eg.

Enjoy your best holiday ever!

Study with the best!

Don’t miss out on this rare offer

9

Exaggeration

It involves over emphasising something to cause a more effective response in the reader. It often uses superlative adjectives

Eg.

This is the most amazing cake I've ever tasted. This is the best movie ever made.

10

Repetition

Repetition makes the offer stick in people's minds, so that they're more likely to take up the offer later.

Eg.

I have to practice my times tables over and over and over again
