Learning Objectives:

At the end of this module, you are expected to:

  1. establish the good effects of volunteerism in improving academic skills;

  2. support volunteerism programs and activities that involve academic skills of learners;

  3. evaluate effectiveness in conducting volunteerism; and

  4. demonstrate volunteerism through environmental advocacies.

From the previous module, you have been acquainted with the world of work. In this module, your sense of responsibility will be re-awakened as volunteerism becomes the central subject of discussion.

You already learned about the spirit of volunteerism throughout your journey as a learner but this module is special as it highlights the value of volunteerism in nurturing your academic skills in the thick of an urgent situation, such as the public health emergency caused by COVID-19. You will gain ideas that will serve as your foundations and wings for your future success and most important ly, you will develop a compassionate personality and you can start to make a difference.

In this module, you will learn the value and benefits of volunteerism in the midst of a crisis situation. You will be equipped with knowledge and ideas as to how and where you are going to support programs and exhibit your eagerness to get involved, be that in school or in the community, safely and responsibly.
