Possessive Adjectives

What are they?

Possessive adjectives are words used to show possession - always next to a singular or plural noun.
The possessive adjective that we use depends on the possessor, NOT the possession.

For example:

  • Its --> possession of it*

  • Our --> possession of we*

  • Their --> possession of they*

  • My --> possession of I

  • Your --> possession of you

  • His --> possession of he*

  • Her --> possession of she*

​*Or its equivalent. For example, his shows possession of one man too.
