What technolgy is used in Amazon Go?

What is Just Walk Out?
The Just Walk Out technology, pioneered by Amazon Web Services, aims to streamline the shopping experience in physical stores. As explained by Jon Jenkins, Vice President of Just Walk Out at AWS, this technology addresses the long-standing frustration of waiting in checkout lines—a dislike that spans across generations.
Customers can use various methods to enter a Just Walk Out-enabled store: Amazon One (which uses palm recognition linked to a payment method), a credit or debit card, or a mobile wallet app. Once inside, they can shop as usual and simply leave when they're done. The technology automatically charges their purchases to their payment method without the need for a traditional checkout process.
For those using Amazon One or registering their email at an in-store kiosk, an itemized receipt is sent after leaving the store. Customers who use a card or mobile wallet will see only the total charge on their card statement after they exit. This innovation aims to eliminate the inconvenience of standing in line, enhancing the overall shopping experience.
