What are linking words?

  • Linking words are words that are used to connect sentences/paragraphs.

  • They help make sentences easier to understand.

  • They can show us when things happen, why they happen, or how they are related to each other.

    • For example, words like "first," "next," and "then" show you the order of events, while words like "because" and "so" explain why something happened.
