CAMERA POLICY

Teachers will send a private message then verbal warning if a student’s camera is
not on. Continued non-camera use will result in moving up the discipline ladder.

First offense: Teacher conferences with student and documents in IC.

Second offense: Teacher conferences with student, contacts LC and documents in
IC.

Third offense: Teacher conferences with student, contacts LC, sends over to
academic coach for support and documents in IC.

Fourth offense: Academic coach submits discipline referral to discipline AP

Please make sure to turn your camera on at the beginning of each class.

You can set it to private (only teacher sees) or public (everyone sees).

24 Student engagement is calculated using information that pertains to student use
of camera/mic & student participation in the classroom. Examples of engagement
expectations include but are not limited to the student being consistently visible on
camera to their teacher, the student actively participating in the chat, etc.

SY24-25 Camera Expectations *New Policy*
Live class participation and engagement supports student achievement and is
essential to learning. GCA requires all students to attend daily classes with their
camera on and their face visible to their teacher. Students may also participate via
chat, microphone, and class tools. Students who do not follow the camera policy may
be referred for progressive discipline.
