Poll

Have you learned how to calculate volume of objects in maths?

Yes, definitely

Maybe, but I am not clear on it

No

6

media

Calculate volume of regular objects (cubes, rectangular prisms)
Calculate volume of irregular objects (using water)

What you need for Science:

How do you feel about doing some maths in Science?

Fill in the Blank

Question image

If the cylinder started with 100mL in it, what is the volume of the rock?

10

Calculations

Because water is handy....

1mL of water = 1 centimetre cubed.
1mL of water = 1 gram

So when we are looking at volume of irregular objects, 25mL = 25 cm3

Math Response

If I start with a measuring cylinder that has 57mL of water in it, and I add an object that moves the water to 79mL, what is the volume of that object?
