When you write an email (or Schoology
Message) to your teachers, you want to sound like your best, most professional self.

Why would you want to sound professional when emailing/messaging your teachers?

Parts of an Email
To line - This is where you put the email address of the person you are sending the email to.
Subject line - This tells the recipient what the message is about. It should be from 1-5 words long.
You do not put your message here!!!!
Body - This is the big, blank space under the subject line and above “Sent from my iPad.” This is
where you put the message you want to send. It needs to start with a greeting (Dear Ms. Makela
or Hello Ms. Makela or…). It also needs to be written in complete sentences. Finally, it needs to
end with a closing and your name (Thank you, Fred or See you tomorrow, Fred or…).
