Fundamental Principles

The people rule or are in charge. They vote and make decisions. The government does what the people want.

​Democracy

​The government is not allowed to do whatever it wants. There are some things the government cannot do.

​Limited Government

​The people let the government take care of them. They give the government authority but they expect the government to look out for them.

​Consent of the governed

​Everyone, including officials has to obey the law.

​rule of law

​Qualified citizents are elected by the people to make laws and do things in the government for the people.

representative government

​None of the branches are allowed to have more power than the others.
